Kitchen Sub-contractors (subs)

Your GC will use many sub-contractors on the job unless they are part of a large company with specialists on their payroll. These subs handle a multitude of tasks and will appear at certain points, do parts of the job and then leave, often coming back at another stage to finish the job. Their work is often dependent on the work of others and a delay by one can stop an entire project. Specialized materials like large appliances, cabinetry and lighting fixtures will need to be on-site when the subs responsible for their installation are scheduled. Keeping all of these elements organized requires good contracting skills and access to quality, dependable sub-contractors.
To understand more about the construction process we’re going to look at the various contractors you’ll have in your home and what they do. It can be confusing when a heating technician is wiring a thermostat but won’t touch a light switch while an electrician stops work to avoid getting in the plumber’s way. They all know their roles and if they’re good they will respect the work of others and prepare the way for the next worker.
