HVAC Installers
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning or HVAC is a separate discipline that involves some of the skills used by both plumbers and electricians, combined with knowledge of heating and cooling systems, ventilation and control systems. Your kitchen not only requires heat and cooling, it needs a system to vent out gases and odors and bring in fresh air. These venting systems and the wiring for controls should be planned after demolition and during framing as the must be hidden in walls, ceilings and within cabinetry. Again, you’ll be moving or working around parts of the system that serve other parts of the house so care must be taken to not inadvertently remove heat sources for other rooms.
The HVAC installer will complete most of their work during the framing stage. They may return to install covers, thermostats or radiators after floors and cabinetry are in. You may also need them to install range hoods that vent outside. During the open wall stage you may want to bring in other specialists like alarm installers, vacuum system installers, etc.
