Flooring Contractors
Floors are often the last item finished to save their surfacing from the wear and tear of the construction process. Leaving floors to last means not having to work around them during installation of heavy appliances, painting and other potentially destructive processes. Hardwood floors may be installed unfinished earlier, covered and then have final sanding and finish installed after all other work is done. Flooring made of ceramic tile requires extensive preparation of the underlayment and floor framing which may get done at the rough carpentry stage. This can involves building up several layers of plywood, installing a concrete surface or using special concrete boards resembling very heavy drywall. All are designed to create a surface that does not flex or move, situations which would crack tile and grout lines.
