Kitchen Appliance Design Guide: On Demand Hot and Cold Water Systems
Another appliance found under the sink area is the on-demand hot and cold water supply. These appliances take water from the supply, heat or cool it as required and feed that water to special faucets mounted on the sink. The water is hot enough for hot drinks and may be a safety hazard for families with small children. Again, a power source is required and the sink you choose must have required holes supplied to accept the necessary faucets. Some stainless sinks may be drilled or punched for this but all others must have factory supplied knock-outs for all sink mounted accessories.
